Shooting at Jason Aldean show in Las Vegas, 50+ dead

It's like a random talking points generator. Fictional Australian terror attacks, swimming pools, safe-space, etc..

He dodged the simple yes/no like a champion, tho. It was just too much for him.
Are you saying there haven't been any terrorist attacks in Australia since they enacted strong gun control following the Port Arthur massacre? Check your facts, they aren't fictional.

I didn't dodge shit, there is no yes or no answer. You can't say something prevented something that didn't occur.

When you have some facts and numbers that back up your point, c'mon back.

The question was about "gun massacres", sir. You brought up "terror attacks" because you lacked the stones to answer the question.

Then you brought up bath tubs.

You can't argue the 2nd Amendment. It is sacrosanct and untouchable, just like the rest of the Constitution and it's many amendments that the conservative right will fight to the death to protect. Only the portions and amendments that cater to gays, blacks, women, equal rights, right to privacy, free speech, protection from illegal detention, search and seizure, surveillance, separation of church and state, voting rights, and all that pussy liberal shit are fair game to be ignored, defiled, legislated out of existence etc. It's the 'Murican Gawddammed way pinkos!

That's it?

What's the difference between a terrorist attack and a massacre?

You stated that I brought up fictitious terrorist attacks; care to elaborate?

You're ducking and dodging and then resorting to name calling and belittling.

I'm over it. G'night.

Do you ever plan on adding something substantive to the conversation around here? Your safe-space thread is two doors down.

As Louis Armstrong said of a white woman who gave him shit because he’d snubbed President Eisenhower due to his failure to take initiative on the Little Rock Crisis: “there are some folks that, if they don’t know, you can’t tell ‘em”.

What could I possibly tell you that could potentially persuade you? Facts, stats, common sense, and all the best minds have failed to do so. It’s on you, man.

There's a phenomenon called "the unobservable event" that applies here.

If you are on a subway platform, you may have the sense that two subways have passed in the opposite direction, prior to your having one come your way. Over time, you note 'that happens fairly frequently ... wtf?' Well, here's wtf: you get on the subway when it's going your way. Meaning, when two in a row come your way, you are not likely to observe this.

This is why there is no real substance to saying "restrictive gun laws don't prevent massacres." There is no way to observe the prevented massacre, except speculating on large-demographic samples over time.

Prevented crimes are unobservable; that doesn't mean we should give up on crime prevention.

I'll also point out that people who unilaterally declare themselves to have the final word in arguments in which they participate are childish as shit, but you know .... they'll likely have the last word on that.

I absolutely love irony. It's such a profoundly intense cause for delicious contemplation.

For instance, you just have to relish the absolute certainty that if and when "The Government" comes to "take your guns", it will be a Government voted overwhelmingly for, and installed not by the anti-gun left, but rather the hard right gun hugging "Patriots" that are pleased as punch to elect politicians that endorse and legislate policies that abjectly strip away their precious Constitutionally protected rights, and whose economic policies run entirely incongruent to their own best interests.

Oh yes, it will be their ultimate rock star and savior whom they blindly idolize because he advocates torturing captives taken in some ill-advised and illegal war and taken to a "black sight" to be held indefinitely without any charges. He waves the flag and loves baby Jesus. He will come like a thief in the night, and they will leave the porch light on and the front door open for him. The proudest Americans in that group will arm themselves and line up like so many lambs for the slaughter by adversary that has no militaristic equal on Earth.

Hold on tight to that 30 ought 6 boys. I'm sure it will save you from the Reaper UAV orbiting thousands of feet above you in the dark of night while it dials in the missile shot you'll never see or hear coming.

History has taught you nothing. Nothing.
