Shooting at Jason Aldean show in Las Vegas, 50+ dead

obviously something was very wrong with this guy, in spite of his family members claiming it's a complete shock to them.
nobody gets a hotel room on the 32nd floor, directly over the concert and brings 10 rifles and hundreds of rounds on a f'ing whim.

I searched "Jason Aldean video" and after listening, I'm convinced that the shooter simply hated bro country.

Americans Hopeful This Will Be Last Mass Shooting Before They Stop On Their Own For No Reason

WASHINGTON—Expressing a sense of guarded optimism that the latest incident of gun violence that left 58 dead and 500 injured in Las Vegas would be a turning point for the nation, Americans across the country confirmed Monday they were hopeful this would be the last mass shooting before all such occurrences stopped on their own for no reason at all. “After something as horrific as what happened in Las Vegas, we’re all just hoping that now these terrible shootings will stop once and for all without circumstances changing in any way or any of us taking even the slightest amount of action in response,” said Harrisburg, PA resident David Snyder, echoing the sentiments of tens of millions of citizens from coast to coast who told reporters they were confident that, after living through the most deadly mass shooting in modern American history and taking no material steps to change gun laws, reevaluate safety standards, increase access to mental health care, or even have a national conversation about how mass shootings could be avoided in the future, tragedies of this kind would at long last come to an end. “Having seen acts of violence like this happen over and over again for years now, I’m really holding out hope that, despite every single factor that allowed them to occur remaining exactly the same, we won’t have to live through another day like today. I know everyone’s praying this will finally be the time this issue just disappears forever entirely by itself without anyone doing anything.” At press time, Americans nationwide agreed that years of taking no measures whatsoever to prevent mass shootings may finally be paying off.

Chad will probably disagree with me but THIS is why we need genre classification because I don't know what I just listened too  it's some kind of post-millinial brotastic country I'm sure. If this was just labeled as country music then I would be highly pissed. Whatever it is it is very cut and paste/beige/unseasoned/bland/generic.

Sounds like brostep but the generic autotuned British woman was replaced with a generic autotuned redneck.

A buddy of mine at work who plays guitar asked me one time if I knew how to play Fly Over States by Jason Aldean.

I told him hell no, I don't listen to that crap :embarrassed:

Aldean isn't bad. I like some of his stuff. It's pretty much 80s rock with a fiddle, banjo and steel guitar mixed in at times. We cover a few of his tunes and they go over well. Plus, he seems like a pretty good dude.

Continued mojo for victims of this attack. What a horror show.

It easily fits into my 2 genre system. This falls under the terrible music genre.

I can't even think about genres and bad country music right now. I saw a picture this morning of some woman laying there curled away from the camera with blood on her back/shoulders (correction. It was running down over her legs under her cut off shorts) and running down. It was just horrible. I am very saddened by all of this today.

If you can be kind to someone today, please do.

The more painful and tragic something is, the more I turn to morbid humor as a coping mechanism. M*A*S*H* was based on a similar structure allowing the characters to cope with the insanity of war and treating the wounded by getting a little insane themselves. I don't expect that most people would understand.

The horrors of my past fire/EMS experiences never completely go away. Sometimes the faces or body parts of the dead show up in my memory. Days like today are extra hard since I could do nothing to help.

I was not criticizing, and I hope you, or anyone else, did not take it like that. I just want to be kind to my friends, my family, and anyone I can today. Coming here and sharing with you guys is therapeutic, and I consider many of you friends, mostly in an electronic pen pal sort of way. But still friends.

R.L. Rowsey, my son's vocal group coach, posted this on Facebook today:

We can be kind. We can take care of each other. We can remember that deep down inside we all need the same thing. And maybe we'll find if we are there for each that together we'll weather whatever tomorrow may bring." - David Friedman. Find this song. Play it over and over. Sing it. Share it with others. We must be bold in our commitment to change the direction of our ship.

I looked up the song. Not my normal taste in music, but the sentiment of it sticks with me today. RL, who lost his husband recently due to some crazy medical complication to a semi-routine surgery, was strong enough to say this. He has been so kind to my son and the kids he works with. I have to join him. Not sure what else to do.

And yes, this is pretty sappy. But right now I don't care.

No, of course not! No need to explain, Steve. I just wanted to give a back story on my earlier post.
This place is cool because we can open up and get things off our chests when we need to. :thu:

My brother, a fire captain now testing out for division chief, has told me about the horror he has come upon on the western, WA freeways (I-5, I-18) with families obliterated like so much road kill. He says it takes a toll. I am sure you experienced similar. Sorry, and thank you for your service there in helping others.

That Chris Murphy statement (CT Senator, not Sloan bassist) has Breitbart all up in arms. He's going to take their guns, they're going to kill him.
