Kick Henry Jackassowski
ND's defense was smothering all day in the rain and the muck. They stopped Stanford 3 times at the goal line and even in the slow motion of them trying to stretch the ball over the goal at the end of the play, you'll see the side judge was already running into the pile with his arms waving because forward progress was stopped.
Just like every time someone makes a drive on the field, they're stopped, all the players crash down to the ground and then the running back tries to stretch the ball forward after he's stopped. The refs always back the ball up to where they were stopped, not where the player stretched the ball to after he was stopped.
Not even that controversial IMO.
Jake must be a fan of the cheats and thugs at USC.![]()
I agree forward progress was stopped well short of the goal line. ND's defense is stout to be sure. The Oklahoma games will tell us a lot.
