Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Mojo.

Did you get the current house together or were you already living there before you met your wife?

We were dating but I bought the house. She's contributed a bit to the mortgage later on but it's all academic at this point as legally it's half hers anyway.

We paid the mortgage off during covid and I told the solicitor I wanted to get her name on the deeds and he said there was no point as it was a couple of hundred quid and legally if we fall out or I die it's hers anyway :embarrassed:

She's mellowed. our stupid mate who is desperate to move out if his place has got in her ear when they were on the wine. The place is nice but I want to love a place or at least really see the potential.

There's a couple of much nicer, bigger, newer houses that are struggling to sell I've managed to divert her focus to. I am into the idea of moving but she's loving everything, even the stupid no sense places so if we find a middle ground where we're not getting pumped on the fee I'll make it happen.

Fuck, day 7 and still ill. Feeling mildly better but still have a bad headache which doesn’t seem to go away.

I dunno if you picked the current house together, but I know that CoGF was very happy about the first place we got together. She lived with me in the place I already lived for a few years before we got our first place together, and she said she always felt a bit like she was living in my place that she also lived. On paper and financially everything was 50/50 and whatnot, but it was just a feeling thing.

it was all me that chose this place though she came to view and moved in pretty much from day one. We had a row earlier in the week and she made a comment that the decor and stuff on the wall is all mine, which it is.

I pointed out that's because I spend all the money on the place, she's stayed here over a decade and never even bought a cushion. she's now gone out and bought some hideous things that don't match the decor at all but whatever. I've taken some stuff off the wall she said she doesn't like and told her to put stuff she likes up.

We went to view the house she's really into again next to her mum's today. There's some damp and one of the loft beams needs replaced as a result but having seen it again I do like it though the kitchen is tiny. There's a cool basement space I could turn into a DJ storage space / den of iniquity and there's plenty of garden for a new hot tub.

She knows the woman selling and instead of phoning directly and asking if we can have another look around like I suggested she went via the estate agent so if course someone else turned up to view right at our arse. :azn:

On the upside we visited a few more places and she's now realised that our pal giving it 20%+ over home report value chat is absolute bullshit.

We've a note of interest on this place so I'm hoping this week they'll court a formal offer if no one else is interested. If it goes to closing I'm going to tell her to contact the woman directly and ask what they'll accept / what we're bidding against.

“We went to view the house she's really into again next to her mum's today.”

are you sure?

Finally rid of my headaches. And the weather is pretty tolerable here for once as well

It's melting here. I got roped into a last minute meeting after work where everyone's sat out on nice picnic benches in the sun and I hid in a shady dookit shouting the odd pearl of wisdom to them.

Stuck in the staff room tomorrow which has no AC or windows. I'll be unapologetically taking in the Dyson fan.

Sounds like a cracking break.

Speaking of Norway, I can't stand watching Scotland these days for various reasons but local lad and all round good guy Kenny McLean just scored a last gasp winner against Norway in the Euro qualifiers.

For some odd reason our guys have forgotten that games last for a bit longer than 85 minutes. :embarrassed:
Losing at home to Scotland is not good.

Had a walk round for the interview today.

I'm not going to bother going for it.

Finished up for the Summer yesterday. Much refreshing lager beer was consumed. Ended up only me and 2 of the support staff left standing at chucking out time :embarrassed:

Gently gliding my way into the holidays today watching cooking programmes on the telly and I feel it's late enough (half 2) that I won't look like a total scumbag taking Lola for a walk via the pub

Sounds like that wasn't a difficult decision. jbj.

Yeah it was a no brainer for various reasons though nice to be leeted.

I got a really nice gift bag from my gaffer yesterday with a card thanking me for x, y and z I've done for the place this year and saying how glad she was I'd be back after the Summer then had my ego stroked the rest of the day by staff extolling my qualities as a member of management as well as my shit hot classroom practice. :bigg:

Speaking of the school holidays: it’s my daughter’s last week of primary school, she’ll start high school after the summer

I can remember her first primary school day like yesterday. How did that happen?

My oldest nephew starts p7 in August so will be high school next year.

It's crazy, I remember going to visit in the hospital a decade ago when he was first born and it seems like no time at all.

Even in work, that's the second lot of kids I've seen all the way through from S1-6 yesterday and it still feels like hardly any time has passed since I had them in S1 classes.
