Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

It would mean needing to end up with a mortgage again but with the money we have in savings, dough her parents want to give us because we paid for the wedding ourselves and the sale of this place we'd have a very manageable mortgage we could likely pay off again by our mid 40s if we played it cute.

We'll see what happens.

I will probably need to curtail my recentkt acquired hand made shoe hobby

Spent a weekend at my own flat, was a strange experience

was planning to work on music, ended up eating junk food in bed

Put a cheeky-ish offer on a house yesterday after finding out there'd been no formal offers.

They came back asking for some details re: our selling situation which is interesting, I think I might get a call or email tomorrow to say they've accepted.

Didn't hear back from the seller and the more I thought about it the less I was into the place especially given the price compared to what has sold around it in the last couple of years and the amount of work needing done so we pulled our offer this morning. I'm slowly getting round to the idea of moving but if I'm not excited, which I wasn't about this place, then it's probably not the right move.

Went to see a few more yesterday. One we both love which is gorgeous, a lot more conveniently located and ticks all the boxes so we'll be putting an offer in there.

Good luck :thu:

New job is the shit! So far not had a single "thank god it's Friday" moment. My colleagues are a lot of fun, the projects are fun, and as hoped, I end up doing more of the stuff I like and a lot less bullshit while having financial stability.

And going on a 4 week roadtrip with the van (that even managed to pass the MOT last week :embarrassed: ) in a few weeks

Also had a quick 2 day trip to NL for my uncle's wedding, good times, too much beer, but hey ho :embarrassed:

Awesome! I feel the same about my new job, not had a single day where I didn’t enjoy myself, feels almost like I am just playing while getting paid

Due to some restructuring this is the first time in years I've not been actively looking for something outwith my work. I love my job but until now I've been limited as to how far up the ladder I can go and I want to drive things from above. An alert flagged up for a big job locally that has come up that I'm probably going to go for just to see what happens. It'll probably go to an internal candidate but I could do it if given the chance so who knows.

It's nice to be in a job you like though, I remember some really horrible supply jobs I hated getting out of bed for.

Closing on the house we're in for ends at noon tomorrow. I refused to budge on our initial offer which was fair so I'm pretty we're not going to get it but you never know.

Good luck on both counts, jbj!

Not heard from the solicitor so I'm guessing it's a no.

Would have been nice but I'll let other people over pay for a house when there's a good chance there's a bubble coming in the future.

Yeah, overpaying for a house right now doesn't make any sense at the moment. Especially not if you don't hate where you are. I guess the only reason people are still overpaying is so they have the loan rate locked in at the current level, cause beyond that it's pretty obvious that anywhere outside of the inner circles of big urban centres it's going to cool down a lot.

We're off to see another one this morning. Great location, period property next to her parents, depending on interest it might get go for a reasonable value and it's big but if we're not going for it I'm going to suggest cooling off the hunt.

Struck down with the flu. Had a headache all weekend, but since yesterday have on and off fevers and muscle ache

ugh

 Mrs jbj is out with a friend of ours on the wine discussing the house we seen yesterday.

There's a weird bug going around here flooring people. I've managed to avoid it so far fingers crossed.

6 years married, been together going on 13 years give or take a wee falling out early days and me and Mrs JBJ have had our first proper row thanks to this house hunting. :thwap:

Good excuse for me and Lola to go for a few pints right enough.

Did you get the current house together or were you already living there before you met your wife?

Day 3 of being ill. Headache just will not go away, painkillers barely take the edge off
