Played my first round of golf today

Away down the coast for a few days and 3 courses to play (aspirationally at least given my pals age).

It's wet but still looking forward to it. I got myself a snazzy new pair of turquoise nike golf shoes too

That should be great, enjoy. I'd really like to do a destination golf sort of trip one of these days.

i would also.
but if you do, be very aware of course fees. for instance, in around Lugano Swiz, a typical round is $130 US.
a lot of europe is like that, and more.

It's true. But if you are already paying for flights, hotels etc., the greens fees won't seem like that much.

That was fun if slightly soggy. Even managed to win a few holes, get a nice par 4 and a couple of bogeys on LOOOOOOOONG par 5s.

We'll forget about the couple of absolute shitshow 9 and 10 holes :embarrassed:

i use our old golf league rules on scoring. once you hit double par....you stop swinging and just pick up the ball and move on

Tiger's first professional round back since his accident makes this years Masters pretty exciting. I enjoy watching anyways, but come on.
If he were to win, it would be the single greatest feat in the history of sports.

i wasn't aware that he had made it official that he'd play the tourney.

It will be cool to see Tiger out there. If he could make the cut it would be amazing.
last weekend at the Valero, the announcer guys were saying that they've been watching him hitting balls and some of the rounds he's been playing, off tour, and they were talking about how he's hitting an awful lot of fairways. not maybe quite as long, but being quite accurate.
so...............

Had a couple of decent holes today but overall played pretty poor.

Hit some absolute monster drives and 3s though which was nice.

Had a lot of fun. it was a good course with lots of variety and the weather was meant to be 30+ mph winds and wet but it stayed dry if quite windy.

We're out fir a few beers and everyone, and I mean literally everyone, in the pub is absolutely shit faced except for us, it's just gone half 8, I don't think we'll be hanging around all night.

Ayrshire.

Nothing fancy course wise (that I'm aware of), Bellisle yesterday, Lochgreen today then Seafield back at Bellisle tomorrow.

I could probably have squiffed it onto Royal Troon on a few holes this afternoon right enough. :embarrassed:

We stayed up late drinking and watching some nature documentary and my pal is now very hungover so we're sacking off today's round and heading home.

I'm not feeling super fresh myself so I can live with that :bigg:
