Official MWGL Stoopid Dealz of the Day Thread!....

This popped up for me coincidentally... or probably not. Google's algorithms are pretty effective

JHSpedals.info now shows the countdown to the ROSS $79 blowout, Friday sale, which starts at midnight tonight.

Compressor, Fuzz, Distortion, Phaser, Chorus

I'm pretty certain that NONE of the ROSS pedals include fine, soft, rich Corinthian leather. But, they do include ROSS mojo, Corinthian mojo aka marketing BS.

I have all of those bases covered in terms of pedals. But after watching Josh's video, I'm tempted to get the Phaser. We'll see...

Edit: BTW, those Notaklon kits are sold out, so 1000 units in 1 day. Not bad at all.

The ROSS Compressor is the pedal that made them famous. But, most classic compressors are based on that circuit. So, most of us have a ROSS circuit by another name, or one with blend added which is even better.

I have one cheap phaser pedal and zero analog chorus. So, I think I'll grab those 2.

The funny thing is that I've decided to purge a bunch of pedals. But, I've procrastinated doing it. So, I'll be adding before purging. :bigg:

I agree with you on the compressor. I suspect the one I have is likely based on the Ross. If I were to get a new compressor, it would be a more modern circuit with a dry signal level control.

The phaser looks interesting and has a switch on the side to give it more of a Univibe sound.

Well, the JHS Ross pedals are all sold out. They went on sale last night at midnight central time, which is 1am eastern. I didn't want one bad enough to stay up late so thought I'd check first thing this morning. I guess the folks west of the Mississippi got 'em all. @jrockbridge, did you get one?

It started at 11pm my time. I had the phaser and chorus in my cart. I was checking out. I had my credit card and personal info input. Then, just as I was about to finalize, it took the phaser away and the words “sold out” appeared. It ticked me off. I canceled the chorus and logged out. Lol!

Bummer, that sucks. Sounds like a non-optimal shopping cart implementation. They must've sold out really quickly then. Glad I didn't stay up late.

They may not have had many phasers. I had one in my cart before a minute after midnight. The system showed “In Stock.” I did not know that I had to hurry through checkout to keep it. I’m actually glad it did not work out because I’m rethinking my pedals. I’m going to sell off a bunch and buy a few.

The reason I only own one cheap phaser, and no analog chorus, is that I rarely use those effects. I have several digital multifx units with models of those effects including an HX Stomp. For as little as I use them, the digital algorithms are probably enough for me.

The only reason I was going to get those ROSS pedals is the price $79. That’s not a good enough reason to buy them.
