That makes sense to me, I think it's exactly what GC should be doing. They have enough capital to be able stock that stuff. Leave the beginner items to the smaller/mom&pop stores. In fairness to Guitar Center they’re much better under the new CEO. Instead of a store of beginner gear there’s lots of high end stuff right out on the floor where you can play it. My understanding is that most of the stores now resemble the stores they used to only have in wealthy towns like the Scottsdale store. The drawback is that if you need a practice amp they might not have anything in stock; when I bought my Ampeg bass amp last week I had to go mail order because everything they had in stock was high end.
Looks like an Ibanez with a Dean logo.Aaaaand now we're back to a Dean super strat.
Dean Exile Select Floyd Fluence Electric Guitar Black Satin
I have an Ibanez Mikro bass, which is a short scale bass. I put flat wound strings on it and use it for recording. I love it so much I have even considered playing bass for some local musicians. That Ibanez is tempting. I was thinking about buying another bass to tune down to B. But it would make more sense to just buy a pitch shifter.
WTF? I literally have a UPS store within walking distance. Heck, I even got my mailbox there so I have an address for my store that isn't my child-occupied house. LOLOkay.... I have to cut MF some slack. I still hate them for killing Woodwind and Brasswind and for turning the guitar centers into cookie-cutter Walmart-for-Musicians...
... but there are definitely people who work there who are good guys. I know a guy that has worked at Guitar Center (since they closed WW&BW on him) and he's super cool... and this guy Tristen who helped me out with a return tag for the Traveler guitar (won't stay in tune for shit) and we had a nice conversation about the music scene in Nashville.
UPS however is on my shit list. They closed the customer counter at the hub that was a few miles from my house.... then I spent my entire lunch hour driving up to the one at the airport... and they CLOSED THAT ONE TOO!!! Basically you have to get your labels online or get them packed at a UPS store and then find a UPS drop off.
That's pretty stable? The tripod/boom I use is "just stable enough" and I usually make sure one of the tripod feet is under the mic to support the weight (if that makes sense). Part of my issue is we have a set of Shure Super 55 mics, and they're heavy due to the metal body.@shoeless
I like my boom stand... it doesn't have the long counter weight sticking out the other side... it just folds over at an angle. Stand it straight up and it retracts into the straight base. There's a second spot with a between-set-guitar hanger and it holds my ipad out away from my mic stand. Flat base so no tripod feet in the way.
