Weekend Wrapup

Whoa!
Mojo, BK!

Thanks. The funny thing is, by the end of the rad/chemo, I'll be way healthier-- won't have had anything to drink in months, probably will lose 20 pounds.

Although I wouldn't recommend surgery, radiation and chemo as a weight loss/fitness regimen.

Again, I wish you well BK.

My weekend:

Friday - Dinner, dominoes and bourbon with friends.

Saturday - ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA!!!! Thanks to FMC+ I got VIP tix to see Dweezil and Co. at the Music Box in Hollywood.
After FMC+ emails me the tix, I email my buddy and ask if he wants to go. He says, "I'm already going." I say how about______( a mutual friend/Zappa fan)? "He's going too." Thanks for including me, buds. Well screw you cuz I got VIP tix see ya there! I took my 26 yo daughter. (She loved it!)

What an awesome show! VIP tix meant admission to the soundcheck before the show. There were probably less than 75 people there. Like watching a personal concert. This was their second night at this venue so their wasnt a lot of interaction with the sound guy. I suspect they had worked that out the night before. We got to see them run through about 4 or 5 songs.

They did Dynamoe Humm and Dweezil stopped and said, "We need an ending for this." Someone replied, "Well, whose job is THAT?"

On the spot he decided to segue the song into "Keep It Greasy."

We had to leave the building before the actual show, so we went to down the street to the best burger I ever ate: Juicy Burgers!

VIP tix also meant being let into the venue before everybody else and we secured a spot right up against the stage, see pic.
The show was great! They did the entire Apostrophe album in sequence. George Duke came out for Uncle Remus and played most of the rest of the evening. Met a guy who asked if I could take his pic with Dweezil. We did and I asked him to take a pic of me and email it to me. He did. Then he friended me on Facebook and thats where I saw his other concerts shots.

ZPZ with daughter and I watching Sheila Gonzales' opening sax solo during "Gumbo Variations."

Looks like fun. If ZPZ ever comes to this part of the country, I wanna go see it.

Modern Saint: You are into bicycles too? Crimeny. We have way too much in common. Nice Les Paul group shot, that would have been fun to witness!

Friday: exhaustion after the week. a low key night and not much really happened except relaxing since my wife and I were both on the verge of getting sick.

Saturday: morning wife went to see father-in-law in the nursing home while I went to bring the two newest fur kids to the vet for their follow-up booster felv prevention shots and one other shot I forget. After that went to my brother-in-laws place to figure out why his new HDTV had perfect video but no audio. Fixed that in a jif and hung out with them for a bit, went home, had dinner and lazed about.

The fur kids:

Sunday: went to see the father-in-law at the nursing home, met with mother-in-law a bit there too. After that did some shopping/errands and eventually found our way home. Had dinner with a friend of ours
later that evening and eventually went home to hit the hay after dropping the friend off at his place. I didn't really even get time to play guitar at all that weekend!

I need a weekend to recover from the weekend.

Friday - Standy for my Dj agency. sat around till 10, didn't get a call then had a few beers, played xbox and went to bed

Saturday - p90x, tried and failed miserably to put oktoberfest photos on a disc for my mate, Dj'd at my local pub

Sunday - went to see harry potter with ms jbj then went to frankie and bennies for dinner, came home, applied for a few jobs online then had some beer and gin :thu:

A lowkey but sufficient weekend. This week's wll be much more interesting solely due to the fact that MONOPOLY NIGHT 2 is taking place at my brothers on Saturday. Monopoly night 1 happened before I was a member here but add a lot of booze, gambling, more booze, some people who aren;t exactly friendly in the group and you can imagine how that one ended.

Friday cleaned up the house.
Saturday more cleaning plus lesson plus a little shopping then home
Then out for more shopping
Then clean more house
Sunday all 6 of my siblings and their spouses and one of my daughters and her family all piled in to the clean house and blew it up.
We hosted a family tradition a little early this year as some will be traveling come holiday time.
We have a tortiere feast
Meat pie
Wine
Cole slaw
Wine
Ham
Wine
Pickles
Wine
Lemon meringue pie
Wine
And them some wine to wash it all down.
