We need one here. It is about to begin!

Who is your pick to win it all this year??

Will USA make the quarter finals (a likely matchup with Germany stands in the way in the round of 16)?

Any chance USA can upset England?

Which team will have the most fans deported for hooliganism? (Argentina in the early lead here...).

To win it all - Brasil - South America has great history on African soil. Look at their roster with Fabiano, Alves, Kaka, Cesar, and the list goes on.

USA will have a tough match against England - especially going against Rooney and the rest of that team. But with Algeria and Slovenia in their same grouping I predict England will advance first with America 2nd for the next round. Slovenia is ranked 33rd in the world I think and will battle with Algeria for third.

As far as Hooligans - Montreal would give Argentina a run for their money if they had a team.

I have a sneaking suspicion Argentina might surprise a lot of people if Maradona can keep his shit together.

As always I'll be supporting England and the Dutchies and as always I'll be majorly disappointed when they both underperform

England 3 - USA -1

And Argentina is definately a contender - They have 2 titles and at least a dozen appearances. They should roll through their opener against Nigeria.

I'm playing fantasy football for the first time in my life. It definitely makes things more interesting. I can't wait for things to get started.

I 'm predicting a 1-1 draw with the USA. :embarrassed:...they're a very decent team as they proved in the Confederations Cup..beating the Euro Champions Spain...who are my tip to win the World Cup. I think England and the USA will come out of the group..if the USA get past the second round, I think that would be considered a good result?...I don't expect England to get past the quarter finals..

My top four are: Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Holland.

I'm only kidding. I know lots of people absolutely love it. I just never got into it.

Argentina seems to be have a lot of people thinking it might be their year to win it all.

I'm going to go with Spain to win it all, though they probably won't. I lived there for a couple years so it's hard not to root for them. Netherlands and England look pretty tough this year.

I do think think the USA can make the quarters if they play to their potential. If they clear the first round (and they should) they will get the winner of group 'D' (barring a miracle win against England ) - which should be Germany (looking at group 'D') and this is not the best German team in recent history.

The USA - England match should be a very good one.

The World Cup will seriously fuck with any plans I might have of getting anything whatsoever done. :embarrassed:
And I love it.

As winners, my clear favourite is Spain. I think that's the most complete team we've seen in modern times. Kickass players in every position, even most of the subs are world class players.
But once past the quarter finals, anything can happen result wise. And one really shouldn't rule out teams like Brazil, Argentina, Italy and Germany. 4 of these should be in the semis.

Both England and the US should get to the quarter finals probably (depending on who they meet prior to that) - and yeah, I think they'll draw in the opening match. First and foremost because it is exactly their opening match, and those rarely have great play/lots of goals. Overall in the tournament though, England should theoretically end up higher than the US though.

England could do their best world cup since 66 with bit of luck along the way. For once they have a good squad, and not least a really good manager.
They do need players like Rooney, Lampard and Gerrard performing at their very best for it to happen though.
One thing's for certain though, if they don't win it now, I don't think they ever will.

As for hooliganism, either Argentina or Holland. Business as usual. :embarrassed:

Oh, and I don't have the slightest belief in Argentina winning.
Maradona was the greatest player of them all in his time, but unfortunately he's a joke of a manager.

I do hope that Messi will show us some real magic in the tourney though.
It's a thing of beauty watching that guy play at his best. :thu:

I have no idea who will win. It will be the first time I have ever paid attention to the cup. My daughter is 13 and getting serious about soccer so I plan to use it as a time to spend with her since she is interested now.

I'd like to get into this, but it's too early.

I'm gonna give the Saturday game a shot, but I think the rest are during the week, aren't they?
