Strap locks?

You guys complaining about how noisy strap locks are must be false rockers.

Real rockers play so loud you never hear the strap lock noise. :cheese:

I don't have any - but I have had the bottom strap button slip off the strap on my Benford a couple of times so I am thinking of getting them. no idea which type, but the guitar strap I use has a really thick leather strap end and i don't think the Schallers work on a strap that thick.

i'm going to find out. the Ric has a Beatles strap, and its really thick.

I've got Schallers on my thick Levy's leather straps. It's tough to get them started, but they do work.

The screw and washer thing works fine, so long as your case isn't a really snug fit to begin with.

I've got several guitars...most of my nicer guitars, actually, whose cases are such a tight fit that you can't leave the strap on the guitar and still put them in their case.

I couldn't get either my Jazz bass or Mrs. P's Peavey Millennium into their cases with the strap still attached for sure. The PRS might fit, but it would be tought. Neither of my Warmoths will fit into their cases with the strap on. I doubt my Les Paul would either. The Wolfgangs might be okay, but I'm really not sure.

Even if they would fit into the case, then you've got to have the strap laying between the guitar's top and the lid of the case, which is usually a pretty snug fit anyway. Throw that in the back of the van and drive an hour or two each way to a gig on WV roads, and you'll very like find your strap has rubbed a hazy spot into the finish of your guitar.

It's just an unnecessary thing to do, considering that a $15 pair of strap locks on a $1500 guitar isn't that big an investment.

I see Mark has undone the double posting failsafe. :embarrassed:

I haven't had time to mess with anything yet. Apparently there is yet another bug introduced with the "security update" this week.

re: straplocks - I can't stand them. What I really like are the oversized Gotoh buttons on my Suhrs that I can't find for sale anywhere...
