Official Pre-Pragestock 2011 Thread

With 2 weeks and an hour or so until the first attendee arrives in WV, I figure we should have a single thread where we hammer out the details.

First of all, if anybody that's driving hasn't gotten directions yet, or don't feel good with the directions you have, please PM me and I'll get you more detailed directions.

Official kickoff is at 1:20 on Thursday, July 28. I know Dave will be there on Thursday. Jaxn, are you arriving on Thursday as well?

Friday will be mostly prep stuff during the day, and as more people arrive, the party will begin in ernest.

Saturday should be one huge party from the time we wake up until the time we pass out.

Sunday is usually a big breakfast in the morning followed by people slowing sobering up enough to drive home. Everyone is welcome to stay as long as they like, up to Monday night....both Mrs. P and I have to go back to work on Tuesday.

Sunday night, for those who are still there, we'll still be drinking and playing music I'm sure, but it won't be quite as wild and crazy as Saturday.

As for equipment, I don't think there is anything essential that will be missing, so bring as much or as little as you want. Ohhing and Ahhing lots of guitars and amps is always fun, but I understand that it's a bit of a hassle to pack a bunch of stuff into the car and then maybe not even play through it. If you wear earplugs, you'll probably want them. We generally keep some of the foam earplugs, but just in case, if you want earplugs (either for the jam session or just to block out the other snoring drunks in the house while you're trying to sleep) you probably should bring your own.

As for food, we'll make sure there is plenty of hamburgers and hot dogs in the house. Probably some chicken too. Possibly stuffed mushrooms. And Julie gave me 2 quarts of her Homemade Salsa, so there's that too.

Lino - Carter's eggs
Telecaster911 - BACON!!!! Stuffed peppers
Eloydrummerboy - Pepperoni Rolls
reverend1- Tony Packos dogs and chilli, and some of their hot pickles and peppers

If some people want to volunteer to bring other fixin's reply to this thread and I'll add you to the list.

I'll make up a couple gallons of iced tea, and Dave and I will go on a beer run on Thursday after he arrives. There can never be too much beer, though, so if you're driving, feel free to bring some. I'm sure it won't go to waste. Same thing with teh booze. I generally don't keep booze in stock, and probably won't bother to stock up beforehand, since there's usually a pretty good supply by mid-Saturday anyway.

I suppose I'll also get some 2 liter bottles of Coke and Diet Coke, and some orange juice for breakfast.

We also have a few coolers for beverage overflow. :embarrassed:

If you're driving, try to throw a pillow and blanket in your car. We've got some, but if we have 20 overnight guests, we won't have enough.

I'll update the weather forecast closer to D-Day, but as of right now, I'd plan on it being hot and muggy. Plan for 85 degree days and 65-70 degree nights with plenty of humidity...possibly some afternoon thunderstorms.

We have a total of 6 futons and a large comfy couch for sleeping. It will be first come, first served. :embarrassed: In addition to that, we have several air mattresses and a couple of camping cots, though Mrs. P will likely take one of the cots with her on her overnight trip. I don't know yet if she's coming home on Saturday or Sunday. Also, if you're up for it, we have a few tents so if you don't want to pitch an air mattress in the floor, you could always pitch a tent outside.

I'm going to setup the jam in the living room this year, so nobody should have to carry their amps and guitars up 3 flights of stairs, and it should be a little cooler than the attic is.

Anything else we need to cover?

Wow.....a concise breakdown of Pragestock. That is a good summary/expectation of the weekend. I really think you covered everything. There is a very loose 'set list' floating around in another thread but what we play is very unplanned anyways.

Yes. I'll be there on Thursday. I get in around 1pm and have an hour or two of work to do in Charleston. Then I'm free. I can give you a shout on your cell, and then just meet you before you head home. Does that work? Or I can just head to your house whenever.

That'll work. I think Dave's flight is at 1:20. I'm going to try to take a 1/2 day on Thursday so Dave doesn't have to wander around Charleston for a couple of hours by himself. If I do, then I'll be home by around 2 or so, and you can just head north at your leisure. If I end up having to work a full day on Thursday, then we can just meet up somewhere in Charleston and you can follow me home.

I really hope to be able to leave at 1 and not come back to work though.

Don't worry about it on my behalf. How much trouble can I get into in downtown Charleston? OK - well - maybe worry a little.
I'm cool either way.....

And my flight arrival time was pushed back to 1:40 PM....

Prages.... I can get as far as Ripley with no directions or GPS. If you could pin point me to at least where your curvy drive hits that main road, I can get the rest of the way from there.

Your car should be able to drive itself there :)

Couldn't you just have your Sis stay at the house and watch the dog? Or is that inviting disaster?

She has a dog and two cats of her own, plus on weekends she works doubles. She barely has time to come home and get her own dog out. Parents won't take him either, because they've got their own dogs too.

Maybe mrs T will make us peppers again.

Tell her I said "Please Please Please Please Please Please!!!!!!!"

The plan for me is still to leave work Thursday at 4:30 from Richmond and get to P-stock whenever I get there. I'm thinking I'll either make, have drummergirl make, or bring some pepperoni rolls. They're a WV regional delight that I think a lot of people will enjoy and also a great "grab and go" snack for this type of event for in between meals. So you can put me down for that.

Google says around 5hr 40min, so expect me around 11ish I guess. Enough time for a little jamming before bed. :thu:

Worst case - I can pick up Dave and hang out with him til you get done. I'll PM you both my cell in case.
