Brexit is on. Cameron is resigning. The Pound is falling. Crazy political upheaval in euroland. I can't wait to see what my retirement accounts are worth after the close of the US markets this afternoon. I'm betting a lot less than they were. I hope all our UK and euro members are doing OK.

Hopefully the initial wave of turmoil will pass. It sounds like it takes quite a while to get the withdrawal done, if it even really happens, which it might not. According to some news reports I read.

Yeah, I don't really understand it and I hadn't even heard about it until this week.

As for the financial aspect, it will have an affect but right now, it's all about people reacting and over-reacting to the decision.
Apparently, lots of fund managers took positions based on how they thought the vote would go. Everyone is freaking out now because most of them guessed incorrectly.

I'm bummed, I was hoping for a stay vote. But obviously my opinion counts for little, it is an English thing...

Yeah the markets will not take it well today, but hopefully that effect will be temporary.

I work with a lot of europeans, so work has been talking about it for a while now. I'm not sure I grasp all the complexities of what this means, but the short term it looks like things are going to be a little messed up in the financial markets. I saw on the news this morning that Scotland plans a fast vote on independence again, as the majority of Scots voted to stay in the EU. The Northern Irish are also talking about reunification with Ireland. Crazy stuff. It all seems very peaceful, which is a nice alternative to past world history. It seems a lot of odd shifts towards nationalism, often with little regard for the financial and political implications. CNN was interviewing some Dutch nationalist who wants to pull the Netherlands out of the EU. Apparently, France also has a lot of people thinking this way as well.

I wonder if the breakup of the UK is a real possibility.

Scotland voted strongly to remain, yes. Now they gonna talk about a referendum to leave the United Kingdom. That will be great for me, because I want to go to Scotland and eat a sleeve of Lorna Doone cookies.

the pound has already crashed.. does seem like a good time for a UK vacation; before they seal the boarders, at least

If they go through with it Scotland will leave the UK, no question. Stupid thing is that this was entirely predicted, but they just didn't care. London has also voted strongly to stay. There are half joking comments from people that London should go independent too. But only half joking.

Why don't you visit Canada instead and eat a pound of flesh tuxedo....

crazy times, it will be interesting to see how this develops and if any other countries also decide to leave.
