Just cancelled my Pro Tools 9 order.

lol.

It's funny that my guy will usually call me when I am actually shopping for something. And whatever it is they don't have it in stock but they can get it for me in a couple of weeks. I'm not that patient.

FWIW, they did call the house and request a copy of her faculty ID. I emailed that this morning, and the order is being processed. Hopefully will ship today.

Cool!

How much this the software normally - for non-academians?

Sweetwater is the best there is. So what if they call you. It's better than needing them and getting nothing but voice recorded messages or some dude in India. Trust me, Pro Tools can be a pain in the ass if it goes down or you run into a clusterF)#*$($* with any part of it. If and when that happens you'll be glad you went with Sweetwater.

Shipped on Friday. Fedex still doesn't show any tracking info though. It's coming from Ft. Wayne, IN, so it'll probably be here tomorrow or Wednesday.

I'd say tomorrow. When I order from Sweetwater I normally get it the next day. If it shipped on Friday it's gotta be in Ohio already.

Fedex still doesn't show it though. I'm assuming that it got packed and picked up by Fedex on Friday evening, then sat at the hub in Ft. Wayne until this morning.

Tomorrow, Wednesday...doesn't really matter too much to me.

Apparently it just left Indiana at 3:30 this morning. "Expected Delivery Date" is the 28th. My guess is that it'll get into the hub in Charleston tomorrow morning. Hopefully it'll either get there early enough to get on the truck, or late enough that I can call and have them hold it at the hub for me to pick up.

I don't know of any reason that it would take 4 days to get here from Indiana.

Damn, that's fucked up. Ft. Wayne is about 3 hours-ish from here, so Sweetwater is 8 or 9 hours away from you?

According to Google maps, it's 5:36...or 300 miles.

I could probably run 300 miles before Saturday if I tried hard enough. :embarrassed:

I have a dealer in Farmington, WV and for whatever reason it takes forever to ship to him. UPS or Fedex it does seem to make any difference. I'm not sure if it's because it's a rual area or what. I ship stuff to South Carolina it gets there faster. weird.

I don't think it's because of my location. I get plenty of stuff shipped to my house, and it doesn't take excessive time.

I mean, I usually get stuff in 2 days when I order from Musicians Friend. I think that comes from St. Louis, which is further away than Ft. Wayne. Even stuff that comes from California usually gets here in less than a week.

I think they are just covering their asses since it was free shipping and they don't want to be in a rush.

I still expect it to get here no later than Thursday.

It's in Grove City, OH right now. I figure it'll ship out of there bright and early in the morning and should arrive at the local hub sometime mid morning tomorrow. From there, I'll probably try to pick it up at the hub instead of waiting until Thursday for home delivery...if FedEx will let me do that.
