Just cancelled my Pro Tools 9 order.

oh, yay, Sweetwater shipping. they use FedEx Home Delivery. basically, it'll get there whenever. it's like shipping 4th class mail. if it fits on a truck, great. if not, well maybe it'll fit tomorrow.

It's actually FedEx Smartpost.

That means that FedEx took it to Grove City, OH, and then turned it over to the USPS. So, yeah, it may actually be Saturday before it gets here.

Grove city is about 20 miles from here.

Call your sales guy and let him know what's what.

Why? I mean, it's free shipping, and I got a $304 discount off the regular price. I don't feel like making a stink yet.

Now, if it doesn't get here by Saturday and I've got a 3 day weekend with no new software, then I might be a little pissed.

Out for delivery!

Option one above could still happen though. If it needs a signature, they'll just leave a card and it'll be too late by the time I get home to get to the post office.

Option 2 is looking likely too. It's getting pretty freakin' dark outside right now.

Not really. If he was installing Logic he'd need a fucking week...just ask Andy. I had to pay a teacher to wait and finish our logic install last month because I didn't realize it was going to take 6 fucking hours.

Yeah, installing Logic and then Komplete is the worst night ever.

So, it looks like the Pro Tools open architecture works with all interfaces....except the Presonus Firepod.

I can get it working if I download and use ASIO4All drivers, but then I only see two inputs in Protools.

Fuck.

Ok, this is where Sweetwater comes in SUPER handy. Call them and say you're having an issue and they'll get you your free tech support. Use it.

I'm afraid it's not going to be a tech support issue, as when you google "Presonus Firepod Pro Tools 9" you get lots of stuff saying that they aren't compatible and that since the Firepod is discontinued, Presonus nor Avid plan on doing anything about it.

I'll still try the tech support route, but I've got a sinking feeling that I'm gonna be stuck with my old system for several more months while I save up for a compatible interface.

As much as I've used and loved my Firepods, FUCK PRESONUS IN THEIR FUCKING MEATHEAD FACES!!!
