I actually ordered three different sets from Amazon because they're super cheap and I'm sure they'll look different in person. I figure I'll go with the set that looks best, and maybe put a pair from another set on my ZZ Deluxe in place of the current chrome knurled barrel knobs.

I love the color... I love that the wear-in has already started.

You lost me at "heaviest" though. Life is too short to play back-breaking guitars on stage, but I'm sure it will be a great studio guitar.

Am I the only person around here who isn't bothered by heavy guitars? I'm 58 years old, and I can still play the old 11 lb. Norlin LP for hours without the slightest issue.

Is an extra two or three pounds really an issue for you guys?

I'm not trying to brag - I am seriously curious as to why everyone seems to be so bothered by heavy guitars. It isn't like I'm in particularly great shape. Maybe I have mutant back genes or something. Or, maybe its because that guitar is all I've ever played and I don't know any different.

It didnt used to bother me at the end of a practice... but the end of a 3 or 4 hour gig I take my guitar off and oh man... that shoulder is stiff. Yes I use a wide padded strap.

Plus with lighter guitars I feel like I move around on stage better, and being a singer/frontman it's something I'm trying to continually improve.

For me it's not the weight so much as the balance. Some guitars just hang heavy to one side, which is where the fatigue really becomes an issue. This guitar listed at 8.5 lbs, which I suppose isn't really that heavy, but it has great balance that distributes the weight very nicely. I could play it at long gigs without any issue. My Black Strat of Chimey Doom OTOH is a 10lb boat anchor.

I love my Firebird, it's light as a feather. Unfortunately, the inherent wonky balance makes it very fatiguing to play for long stretches.

I really like the Epiphone LPs. I have a 2009 Custom Shop Custom I love. I swapped out the bridge pickup for a Billy Gibbons Seymour and it is really the perfect guitar for me.
