anyway, the point is that the Jazz Bass was released at the same time as the Jazzmaster guitar. it too is more versatile than it's Telecaster predecessor and they share the offset body shape. one can make all the Strat comparisons they want, but it doesn't hold water.

i'm not a huge fan of offsets like the Jazz. but i'm intrigued by what a two pickup system can do on a bass. especially with the blend. that said, i'm also not a fan of single coil pickups and would likely re-wire any Jazz i bought for added tonal options (and humbuckers). so it's really not a road i need to go down. maybe something from Ibanez or something with a second Precision pickup (like that Blacktop model i started a thread about).
