Especially in this guitar.

I have grown to like the Wolfgangs, but this one is ruined by the EMGs.

I like the look of the newer Wolfgangs better, but they're drastically overpriced, as is most of the EVH stuff.

If I'm playing metal I prefer EMG's. Modern metal gets too flubby sounding without active pickups.

David Gilmour uses EMGs. I think he could play a baseball bat with strings on it through an old am radio and sound good.

Vince Gill too, but by and large, metal guys are the main EMG set.

I'm not a metal guy, and I love EMGs. I think they sound great. I especially love the dual mode 89 models. I have several guitars loaded with them.

I know what you mean. I have the same problem with humbuckers and EL34 or EL84 amps. I love the sound of both, but not when I play them.
