Walnut Hollowbody Build

The piece of wood I used for the headstock face is the straightest, tightest piece I could find. It isn't cooperating as the grain is just too shallow to bite the filler and hold it in.

So what do you make of doing a solid color headstock? This is the same color as the grain fill so I know it matches. :lol:
Of course, it needs sanding and polishing, but you get the idea.

You guys suck. With the whole body (sloppily) painted with cream color, I'm looking at it and thinking "Man, that looks real uptown like one of them white falcon jobs. Maybe I'll paint the whole thing that color."
And then I'm thinking, "Yeah, maybe have my kid the arteest do some striping...."
And then I'm thinking, "Ooh, it would hide my offset center line."

Honestly, i think it would be worth some pondering to rethink the whole white grain thing and just go back to dark stain. It was a nice experiment, but . . .

I've considered that.
The thought of removing ALL the white is...not good...
 
It's funny -- I have a general hatred of all that is glitzy, but for some reason those Gretsch falcons, penguins, etc. make my pants feel funny!
