It's my own fault, forced the gearbox this morning instead of letting it thaw out a bit. Hopefully nothing serious but I'm not hopeful. Garages are stowed so even if I can get it down to my place tonight (waiting on the RAC to come) the guy reckons he'll be lucky so get to it before he stops for Christmas so it'll be going on the middle of January before he gets it done :/

fuck, that’s the worst time of year for your car to be fucked. I had to get the hot water to defrost my car door locks today, but otherwise it is fine.

Hope you’ll get it sorted quickly

So my new employer had a little side project, and although I officially start on 4th Jan, they asked me to do this now (it’s paid work). It’s not what I am hired to do, but they saw in my portfolio it’s something I have done before, so they asked me.

I met the team on Monday, all super cool people

Why is it that everything just breaks in the UK when it's not 10 degrees and raining :embarrassed:

We have -10 and a meter of snow here and everything's fine.

Good thing I have today off from work. Pretty much snowed in :embarrassed:
Had almost half a meter since last night. Not going anywhere today, at least not for a good while.

Back to work on Monday so spent today and now tomorrow DIYing.

Probably not going to manage everything I hoped to do but all the big ones are out of the way.

My gout has mildly flared up today. Painkillers have helped but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned about it coming back in force. This is with steroids and anti inflammatory meds every day - this might be the end of my love affair with refreshing lager beer
