Did my self assessment for the DJing today.
Following past years nice COVID one where I didn't make or own any money the bastards want nearly 15 grand off me by the end of January

Got an interview for a promotion next week.
School is right by Ibrox stadium which is handy for midweek games, not that we've got many of them left on the calendar this season.
I've actually been off work since last Monday with fubar ankles. Did as much WFH last week as possible but when I handed my line in on Monday I was told to wind it in and the boss doesn't even want me checking emails if I was off sick so apart from helping some pals under the radar I've down tools for the past 3 days.
It's been interesting to see little policies and processes that a lot of colleagues think are insignificant or unimportant go to shit in the space of a few days when I've not been there in the background keeping them running smoothly. Maybe they'll be more invested in this stuff when I go back...

I try not to dwell on interviews, the best one I've ever done I never even got a call back about and it was just a bog standard history job.
Probably my worst one I ended up with a job running a small unit in a top 5 state school.

I digress, I've got a better chance of sorting the cost of living crisis than getting our lads to stop making an arse of it.

There's 4 of us in for it but only 1 of them turned up for the walk round - turns out the other 2 didn't bother to phone and enquire about 1...
No internal candidate and as far as experience and job fit goes,I tick a lot more boxes than this girl at least so my chances are decent if I answer the questions well.

Interview went reasonably well I think.
3 of the 4 questions were kind of similar but I was able to give distinct answers talking about completely different experiences I've had so I'm happy with that.
They had a framework for each answer which I wasn't aware of and will give a wee advantage to anyone in that council who knows the interview process or anyone that's tried to rote learn answers but we'll see.
Should find out within the hour so I'm going to take Lola out for a play while I wait.

You're always up against at least a handful of really experienced and competent people at this stage so I'm not going to call it anything other than being outdone by a candidate with better answers on the day and I don't like to dwell on interviews or missed opportunities but I'd have smashed this job out of the park no problem.
