WTF is wrong with people, Thanksgiving edition

It always amazes me how many white people don’t know this. They think ignorant people are the ones who don’t say “native American”. Clearly they have never said “native American” within earshot of an Indian.

Context is everything.

I've found that the term Native American is used when when Indians want to mess with white people when they say Indian. I've seen both terms used interchangeably in the same internal documents. The new descriptive term is Indigenous Peoples. While the nation got the county to do a big thing declaring October 12th "Indigenous Peoples Day" I have never heard anyone other than white people use that term. I never use any of those terms unless I'm describing who I worked for to white people. They seem to be most interested in correct terms being used. BTW, after the Packers the most popular NFL jersey is the Redskins among tribal members. That'll freak out white people.

Some prefer "American Indian" since "American" is listed first, being the indigenous people and all.

Like the native Americans say, ' white man came, across the sea, they brought us pain, and misery'. Let's honor them and cry for the native Americans.

Of course the proper term is Indian. If humans lived as the Indians used to, the Earth would still be pure.

Just try and not dance like you are in a mosh pit for the 'War Dance' at 2:40 in.

My "meatless roast" is done and the meatless stuffing is made. Time to head to my brother-in-law's house for the family fun. Have a great day, everyone.

I';ve heard that cooking a turkey upside down (with the breast on the bottom) helps keep the white meat nice and moist

My mom is cooking roast pork. tonight. Itsthe
My tribe straddles the US and Canada, so as long as America includes Canada . . .
What tribe? My niece is part Lakota Sioux. Her dad, Dave Ironwing, is a great hard rock drummer.

Speaking of tribes, I asked son's girlfriend who is half Cherokee. "people at the guitar forum said Indians don't like..." She said we are fine with it. Navajo really don't like it.

yes, there are a couple of politicized (in a good way) tribes that insist on Native or Indigenous
