What is your favorite record guitar tone?

Brian May usually has a fantastic guitar tone, but this song stands out as showcasing his finest tone ever:

The whole arrangement is perfect, from Mercury's lovely piano and vocals, to the cello-like sound of May's guitar. Simply incredible.
 
Reverb is my favorite effect, and this guy really knows how to use it well. Dude knows his way around a wah pedal too....



The lead tone on this track is just so fucking good. Beautiful.

The album version of this one is even better.

I know everyone here doesn't dig on SRV but nobody can say he never had amazing tone.



This vid just makes me go "Wow" every time i watch it.



Yes, im a buckethead fan. I admit it. I dig the ambient vibe on this song.

Lots of awesome tones already mentioned...some of my other favorites, especially fuzz tones:

Dan Auerbach/The Black Keys - variations on the greasy cutting tone with plenty of thunk
J Mascis/Dinosaur jr - loads of goodness through out the years. Farm has been on heavy rotation at home lately...so many good tones on this album
Doug Martsch/BTS - great live too
Billy Corgan's Siamese Dream fuzz tones
Fu Manchu, especially from the King of the Road and The Action is Go albums
Matt Pike's tones with High on Fire are great heavy LP/marshall style
Snapcase has some of my favorite mesa recto tones recorded
SOIA - Yours Truly

...can't say I'm a fan of the And Justice for All tones. Coming from the searing drive & Bay area thrash tones of Kill em All and Ride, that album was kinda a let down for me in that department.
