What do you all use to clean your maple fretboards?

So I’ve done a lot of research on this online and there are tons of different options… naphtha, mineral oil, alcohol, soapy water and a toothbrush, etc.

What do you use?

I noticed that my Suhr started getting a bit dirty after playing it for a while. It looks like John Suhr uses either Big Bends or naphtha… what do you use?
 
It's brand new?

Just wipe it down.

Heavy use, like 6 months of gigging, I use never dull on the frets and a little always finds its way to the fingerboard, which I wipe off with a polishing rag.
 
If it's getting dirty after only a couple hours of playing, I'd suspect that the strings need changed.

Most of my maple boards are not finished, so I just hit them with some lemon oil during string changes.

If it's a finished fretboard, you can use whatever you use to clean the body of the guitar.
 
I used to use a old soft bristled toothbrush and warm lightly soapy water (Dawn dish soap...blue stuff). I would just wet the bristles, scrub, and then wipe away and dry off.

I know most folks would probably poo-poo this, but I never had a problem with my HM Strat in the late '80s and early '90s.
 
Sometimes brand new strings can leave black marks. I wonder if it's machine oil from the manufacture. No biggie... wipes right off.

If they're really gunky, I'll just use some APC to get the grime off then wipe it down with the damp rag
