...well, not during a Phillies series...Im sure philly fans will make the trip, and out number the mets fan (singular tense is intentional)...one of the reason Nats fans hate the phillies so much is cause phily fans can jump on the train, and be at Nationals park in no time...and they arrive in droves...sounds like a home game...and the nats fans hate it...

happens at Marlins games. the Mets come to town and it becomes a home game.

I wish I could get 12 million to not play for the Mets - plus whatever contract he will get to be an insurance starter for a team with injury problems in their starting rotation. The Rockies already have a Met reject in spring training (Maine) so no interest on their part despite having a starter hurt right now (Cook) and no one stepping up amongst the possible replacements. The Cardinals might have an interest.....

The site lines there for baseball are among the worst in baseball - if not the worst. Hopefully when they move into the new stadium, which is baseball only, it will renew interest in the area for baseball.

i've been reading and listening to interviews with the Mets new front office. the Mets might not play above .500 ball this year, but their culture will change drastically. Castillo was thrown under the bus by the new manager Terry Collins for moping around this spring, where he could have gotten away with it last year. they haven't had this kind of change in 25 years. it's almost unsettling.

Amazing what a real front office can do. It also sends a message to the other players that attitude matters now.

that's what hiring Terry Collins as manager was all about. they didn't care about getting a big name for the city. they wanted some asshole who might get into it with a player that isn't performing. and if he fails, he fails. they're grooming Tim Teufel and Wally Backman to take over in a couple of years anyway. (the running joke is that you could make them co-managers and platoon them based on righty/lefty situations).
