the EP booster will also provide a totally different dynamic. if you want even more vintage tones, try an HBE Germania or Catalinbread Naga Viper.

Ohbim quite sure Ep will add a new dynamic, but when comes to distortion pedals and such I have no idea. Have never ever thought about one

filtering and marketing. they both create a square wave and have more than enough boost on-tap to make the amp compress, thus creating a square wave in the preamp.

start with a sound you like and work backwards.

the slash tone is probably easiest. get some low output pickups, turn down your tone knob, and crank the volume. maybe a little chorus, delay, and wah, but you probably don't need a dirt pedal past what you have.

evh tone is a bit more difficult because it's really about feel. besides, you've got a 5150.

Yeah I got the 5150 it's just so freakn loud. I would like accomplish a similar tone on a lot less volume. That being said I do enjoy the class 5's tone. My strat sounds better through it than my Wolfgang.
