Someone remind me next week....

Hey....no one reminded me about the beer...

Paulski did but that was last week....

It was Coors Light this week anyways.

But the chick singer was back, was one hour late to the practice (which is in her basement) and managed to almost derail the band in ten minutes at the end of the evening. She keeps suggesting a song she wants to do and no one else in that band wants to do it. And she wants us to add more 'dance' numbers. And she won't shut up about either point. Our drummer is about ready to pack it in. He took of very fast last night to avoid going nuclear on her (apparently). I had a long talk after practice with the bass player and at this point we may end up parting ways with said chick singer. In the band right now we have four guys heading in a definitely direction - less three chord songs, better more diverse set list. She wants 'dance' numbers even though no one is dancing to the current 'dance' songs she has picked. I have too much time invested in the band to see it go up in flames right now. I have no clue where the guy lead singer stands on any of this.

I was aware of the "Female Singer Diva Trap" and tried to coach my daughter to NOT be one of those.

Then she started pulling that shit with me when we were trying to do summer festival kinds of things. It made me not want to schedule anymore gigs with her... and SHE'S MY DAUGHTER.

I warned her again and she was better with a band of younger people... but then they started treating her poorly, and she reacted in (maybe warranted this time around) girl singer drama fashion.

She's not been in a band for a while but she has matured a bit... I wonder if she would be able to learn how to avoid the knee-jerk diva syndrome responses and become a good female singer in a band (as opposed to just being a good female singer).

There are those who really have their shit together (guys and girls)... Gibby seems to be in a great situation which is extremely rare and exceptionally cool.

Since my chick singer experience only lasted three practices, I mostly escaped unscathed. Although, I of all people, had to teach her how to count. She was a karaoke singer.

Tele as well. Of course the band is named after her so she best be good...:embarrassed:

This gal was pretty cool when we started, but when we started we were originally a 3 chords blues/blues rock band. We have morphed into a different band now. Everyone has had song suggestions shot down, myself included (more than one...), but she seems to want to be the exception.
