Not going to go into specifics because of forum rules....



... but let's just say that I have some facebook friends that are willing to defriend me because of my profile picture and response to their intolerant ranting.

Sadly, the ones who I will want to unfriend are actually family and would probably start all kinds of family trouble if I did what I want to do, so I just have to go with hiding their posts all day.
 
Does your profile picture show you getting gay married or something? :confused:

I have had to take a couple of them out of my news feed because I was getting really tired of the ultra-conservative ranting, but no defriending going on yet.
 
I don't tolerate bigotry, homophobia, transphobia, racism, and other discriminatory actions on my FB page. If you want to post that stuff, I'm going to immediately unfriend you without giving you a second chance. That includes family.

Let me state, this is after she sent another one of my friends "I'm so disappointed in your profile picture and am unfriending you."
 
I changed my FB pic today, but no weird comments yet. Most of my friends and family would be supportive of that, though not so much my wife's family. Fuck 'em.

In my view, people's basic rights as citizens aren't a matter of "political" debate, but I do understand Mark's desire to avoid topics that might cause heated argument, so I will leave it at that. (or else try reaaaly hard to...)

Together we can end intolerance of intolerance in our lifetime.
 
I've hardly been online today... Haven't had much of a chance to change pics or sew what's going on..
 
Also, I generally refrain from posting anything political on FB but to me this isn't politics in a "republican vs. democrat" sort of way. I do see it as a civil rights issue and if someone is going to disagree with me over that then good for them...they are entitled to their own opinion but if they are going to be jerks about it then I dont need to share newsfeed space with them.

This, to me, is an issue a basic respect for your fellow human being
