About a month ago I had our new singer over to run the tunes with just me and him so he could come up with some vocal melodies without full band volume. He's a pretty good drummer too so after a while we were running the tunes with him on drums and vocals and me on guitar. At one point I said "dude, we are like the White Stripes of metal" and he got a sad look on his face and said "does that mean I'm the Meg White of metal." And I said "yes but without the epic rack."

Well - the car show on Sept 11th just got confirmed. This one will be a bit of a motivation challenge since there is no pay involved - it is to get the band future gigs at the club. Future gigs I won't play. Oh well - at least they are having a chili cookoff so I possibly get a free lunch out of the deal.
