Bears could have won this game and gone to 9-3 and still be a game up int the division; instead they are 8-4 and in second place (due to currently edged on the tiebreaker with GB), and have to go to Minnesota next week (mediocre team, but a tough road field), Green Bay at home (GB has pwned the Bears in recent years), Cardinals on the road (SHOULD be a cakewalk), and Detroit on the road (again, crap team, but tough road game). If they don't beat Minne and GB, the division will be lost, and they best will need to hope for a wild card...

Ponder has been useless that past three weeks and Peterson may be the best RB in football but this is not the 70s and you can't win with just a running game. GB and Det will both be tough games but I expect the Bears to win one of those and that is easily good enough to get into the playoffs.

I'm not normally a Redskins fan, but tonight I'm rooting for them like never before.

I have two favorite teams. The NY Giants, and whoever is playing against Dallas.
 
The Seahawks held on over the Rams today, despite a very strong pass rush and several sacks. I think it was good they were tested, and had to work before entering the playoffs.
 
I don't know how far they'll go, but the Skins are looking awesome. What a great postseason. Luck VS Manning? Manning VS Brady? the Packers and Seahawks meet again? This is so cool.

Indeed. With the speed and size of the linebackers in this league running a lot of a sure recipe for injury. It will take him another year or so to adjust if he does not break something first. Vick had to learn the same lesson...

Hmm, Redskins vs. Seahawks. What to you guys think? Other than getting tired of it being billed as RG3 vs. Wilson . . . there are a number of other players involved after all.


Interesting matchups. I would feel more comfortable if the Seahawks were playing at home, but they have improved on the road of late, beating the Bears at home. I am willing to be hopeful . . . but we will have to see what Seahawks team shows up. I hope the coaching is bold and confident rather than conservative.
 
Well, it's official:

Chargers fired AJ Smith and Norv Turner this morning.

Good riddance to Smith, Norv was a casualty of AJ's massive egomania.

AJ spent $94 million of the teams money to secure a marquee quarterback, and then for four consecutive seasons, refused to spend a dime to protect him.

His Chargers legacy will be the guy who put a team with 8th lowest payroll in the league on the field every year to be viewed from 8th most expensive seats...

And they wondered why they couldn't sell out home games.

Fuckin' genius.

Andy Reid is a scumbag. Straight up, no bones about it, scumbag.

Shoulda kept Norv. The GM spot is easier to fill, but there's no magic Head Coach orchard out there where you just go and pick a new one from the tree.

The qualified guys that are out there, and would be welcomed by the fans here would never in a million years come to work in this town.

Bill Cowher: No way, never gonna happen. Not here.

Chuckie (John Grudden): Nope, he'd never come here.

Tony Dungy: yeah right. No.


We're going to wind up with some 3rd rate asshat rejected coordinator or college coach who hasn't got a clue what he's doing.

And suffer mightily for it.
 
Arrghh!! I just realized that Troy Aikman is the commentator for the Seahawks/Redskins game. Bleh! Maybe I can find a different audio feed online and turn the tv sound down.
