That sounds really good. I'm about halfway through the video right now. I'm surprised at how the coil taps sound. I'm usually not a fan of split humbuckers.

Yep, the wiring gets kinda crazy in there, but once I got it worked out I pulled everything (pots/switches/wires) out, reinstalled new electronics and rewired with shorter leads to make it neat and tiddy. Still want to change the tone and coil cut pots to a different taper. Guess that's part of never being satisfied until it's right.

Any chance you could post a wiring diagram? I'm mostly interested in how the series/parallel works with the no-load pot.

Also, what brand of pickups are they? Any caps involved?

The pickups are Wolfetone Legend Pickups with a slightly hotter wind on the bridge pickup. I swapped the No Loads, the one's in the vid were 500k Linear Taper and had to be turned to almost 3/4 to get an audible change. I used some Bourns 250K Audio Taper and just modded them to No Load. These worked a whole lot better because of the sweep.

I don't have a wiring diagram. The tone pot is wired like a normal tone pot, going to the switch output on the volume pot, with a .033 orange drop cap.

The neck coil cut is wired almost the same as a tone pot but goes to one of the wires of the "tap pair" of the neck. It's essentially shunting it to ground which cuts a coil of the neck pickup. It has a cap that thickens up the tone. Unfortunately that's about all I can share.

On a side note, save your money and don't buy the ready made No Load pots. Go to mouser.com order any kind of standard pot you like for about $2.60 and just mod it yourself. Well worth it.
 
Thanks. Enough info for me to experiment with. I always use dpdt switches to do series/parallel. Would be interesting to have a variable roll off of that feature. Now to find some spare pots and get to work :)
 
No problem. Making a wiring diagram would be a serious undertaking. It has a superswitch 5way so it gets pretty complicated. But like I said, the coil cut pot is assembled/wired like a standard tone pot (cap and all) the incoming wire that goes to the middle lug is connected to one of the wires of the "tap" pair of a 4conductor pickup, as opposed to the volume pot lug. Change the value of the cap to your desired preference.

.033 cap does not change the tone too much. A mellow smooth tapped tone great for jazz and finger strummed stuff. If you pick hard you may like as well.
.022 cap, you hear the tap a bit more. Smooth single coil tone.
.01 cap, you start to get more bite out of it.
