Starting with a small electronic kit that he built. He stuffed the pc board with the components in the kit with just a little direction from me on polarized components. I soldered it for him on my break and it worked first try:

nah...just an $3 project to make LED's flash at different rates with trim pots. He understands about 50% of what everything does and can follow patterns on the directions more than anything else. Not bad for a 6 year old, for sure. :)
 
That's fucking awesome.

My oldest is showing a lot of musical/linguistic talent - very musical household with two languages spoken daily, so you'd expect as much - but it's too early to call.

It's hard to know where they're going to end up. My son has some "non 6 year old" obsession that changes every month or so. It can be awesome and scary at the same time.

My dad worked doing piecework for the garment industry in NYC during the great depression with my grandmother when he was 6 years old It's like a tradition now :embarrassed:
 
Looks like you have got some sweatshop labor at your disposal. Get him making pedals. :grin:
 
Just so he doesnt try to hold the world hostage for 1 million dollars :)

So he was still awake rattling around in his room last night when I got home so I got him out of bed and showed him the results. It was like Santa Claus had come to town. :)
 
...I smell a Sitcom...Dad exploits his two childrens natural electronic talents, and opens an electronic repair store, to hilarious results...
