If I was gigging and using more than 4 pedals, I would have to get one. With your setup and the number of gigs you do, I can't believe you didn't get something like that sooner.

Well, I have tried passive loopers before and it really didn't help much and most of them affected my sound in ways I didn't enjoy. The nicer systems they have now are quite a bit more expensive for one but for two it's just been in the last couple of years we've been seeing things like the ES-8 or the Gigrig on the market in a "non-custom order" kind of way. I have a couple of issues that this will address:

1 - the obvious needing to change 2-3 pedals at the same time for some changes

2 - my giant feet inadvertently kicking and changing settings on adjacent pedals when I am singing and changing sounds. Also, I will be more likely to "set and forget" things and not mess with my levels and whatnot during the show thinking that I kicked them,e

3 - I hate trying to hit pedals in the back row of my pedalboard on the fly. I almost never use my pinnacle deluxe for this reason and if I am using my delay or reverb the sounds stay on for entire songs.

The Carl Martin has been around for a while and isn't too expensive. I know it doesn't do midi but it can do multiple pedals at once. That would be the one I would get because I don't do midi and I like that it is dip switchs to set which pedals get turned on and off instead of programming patches. I too stupid for programming and midi :grin:

But this kind of thing really is perfect for you and it's great you finally were able to get it. I bet this is one of those things you are going to kick yourself for not doing it sooner.

So the nice thing is that I can watch video tutorials on how to set this up all week so that when it gets here on Friday I have half an idea of how to set it up:



Apparently Roland's actual documentation on this unit is pretty bad so this is really helpful.

As far as other stuff goes, I am on the wait list for an Analogman King of Tone and that might take the place of the Sparkledrive MOD in early 2128 when I actually get it. This is the notice on the site:

King Of Tone is now shipping to people who got on the waiting list on or anytime before:

June 23, 2015 (not 2016)

I got on the list March 26 2016. :(

I get the feeling that once this is all together and I've got a few shows under my belt I might be re-evaluating my OD/distortion situation anyway. Eventually I want to get a Strymon Timeline too.

Jesus Christ. They are that back ordered? Maybe they should hire some folks. I hope when you kick on that pedal you hear angels singing :grin:

Well, they have always had a wait list of about a year. I think they want to keep quality up by only building what they can in house. To be honest I'm not that in love with the Prince of Tone and when I hear comparison videos the thing I dislike about it compared to the KoT is pretty obvious. I can wait though. And who knows if the KoT will make me happy in this rig either? I do think that it will be a cool pedal to have though. I'm just not in a hurry to have it since I can get through my gigs as I am now.

As much as I flip pedals, I don't think I could wait that long. I would be over that pedal sound months before I even got the thing :grin:

Well, my compressor was delivered to my inlaws today so I'll have that tonight (not that I'l do anything with it and the rest is at FedEx here in California. Hopefully it shows up tomorrow.
 
So I spent some time watching videos on how to program this thing during the time each morning that I soak my hands in the wax bath. Which is literally the only free time I have these days. I'm very glad I did after watching the ones on midi and ctrl functions. We'll see how it goes tomorrow night.

I really hope you hate it. Then I won't try to justify buying something like that for myself :grin:

I kid, I'm sure after you get it setup, it will make your gigs so much easier.
