If you decide to go the electric route, i've been pretty happy with this bad boy. Then you can get one of those little Vox headphone amps, and you're in business.

Today I've been doing the whole metworking bit. I know a few people who work for the company. They, in turn, introduced me to a few others.
Good feedback from folks and I think this company will be a good fit for me.
A German owned company (privately held by the same family for three generations), they have a more professional sales approach. They spend most of their time with pediatric therapists, showing equipment and helping with evaluations. Much less time spent with the actual dealers other than support issues.

I spent many years building custom molded seating systems and this company makes one of the coolest high tech versions anywhere.

Despite the large territory, they are a niche provider, so your number of stops in any given area is limited. Dallas could easily be canvassed in two days. Most everything I do will be centered on larger cities. OKC, Dallas, Tulsa. Shriner's Hospital is in Shreveport, so that's a once a month trip.

So far, I'm impressed with everyone's professionalism.

I'm a believer in interviewing them as much as they're interviewing me. I don't want to end up working for used car salesmen.

In Europe, this company is also huge in foam. They supply car seat foam for MB, BMW and Volswagen.
 
My one hour interview became a two hour conversation.
He kept using words like "we" and "when"
I have a good feeling right now.
