Is the new wave of shred really asking for this?

The street price is going to be $1200. For that price I'll buy two RG's. It seems to me that the Kramer line was supposed to be cheap to compete with the less expensive LTD and Ibanez models. But that two brands are better than what Gibson puts out with the Kramer. Just put Kramer in their coffin if you don't care about it.
 
I love it in the green. For $1200, I might have to give it a spin, even with a reverse headstock.

You're talking about Henry J - a guy who at the time the 80s metal bands were partying on the sunset strip he'd already gotten his MBA from Harvard and was working in the auto industry. You guys remember GM in the 1980s? That's the design ethos he's bringing to Gibson guitars.
 
I do like the colours a lot.
for some reason, I find that top one there to be a lot less offensive than the one in the OP
