I don't know..I'd probably try one out if I saw one, but it's not really pushing my buttons much.
 
I remember those the first time around. A guy in my dorm had a black one. It was a pretty decent guitar, but there was nothing really special about it, and it was much uglier than the other super strat options out there. A reissue is pretty much a meh from me. No way to compete with the dominance of jackson and ibanez and the dozens of other builders.

Kind of a sad thing that gibson bought and killed Kramer, a company famous for making superstrats everyone wanted in the 80's. The mIII was a poor response to the nice american kramers and similar guitars, and now the mIII is the guitar gibson opts to sell us. So bizarre.

I don't understand a lot of stuff that Gibson does.
 
I had one of the early 90's epiphone versions of that given to me.

It had the worst neck joint ever, it was like a set in neck, but the tongue of the neck was even thinner, and two of the screws bolted into that part. The neck was like a rubber band, you could get the neck shake vibrato effect without trying.

I know zero about business, but it seems Gibson is run by people who know even less than I do.

I mean, why not announce that "Kramer" is back to take their position at the top of the super strat market, then sell high end USA made Kramer guitars along the lines of the Nightswan model? You could even offer them with some wacky 80's hair metal custom paint and stuff, and maybe grab some market from Jackson. Relaunching a poor selling crap copy of a super start from a company not known for super strats when you OWN one of the great names from that genre is nuts!

I would have loved to be in the boardroom when that was discussed.

They really should bring back the Nightswan, that was such a kick ass guitar. Buddy Blaze is still making them, but their price range is...expensive.

I agree 100%. The only reason for buying a company like Kramer is to buy why they were special in the first place. Imagine if they started doing Berretas again? I'd probably buy one.
 
A friend of mine has a Kramer Paul Dean..seriously good guitar in terms of build quality and sound.
 
I also like the colour
beyond that, it doesn't do much for me...there are lots of options for that kinda of thing, and I'd take my Ibby over that, hands down
 
Kramer stopped being Kramer LONG before Gibson got their filthy mitts on the name. If it doesn't have an aluminum neck with the split "V" headstock, it isn't a Kramer.

Moral of the story is two fold.

Fold one: a reissue of a reissue of a shit guitar made by a company who desiccated their own namesake 30 years ago is stupid.

Fold two: fuck Gibson in their meathead face.

Gibson marketing inventing yet another layer of fail. When was the last time that company actually had a good idea.....
 
Maybe Henry is trying to cash in on those Guitar Player vintage guitar articles about ugly Gibsons that sell cheap.
