I really want an SG (the 1960 one) but of all of the ones my students have (fadeds and 1960's) I have never seen one really stay in tune.

the RIs have even worse tuning problems because of the thin neck and "historically correct" neck joint. yer basic SG Standard has a much better neck joint.
the reissue sounds really good, though. Maybe I'll just build myself one.
if i were getting an SG, i would get a Guild S-100.
I've never been too excited by them...
the 90s ones are actually pretty great guitars. they fix the neck joint issue, nail down the tailpiece to the body, and came with Duncan pickups.
I'd have to try one.
I just saw this on MF. Looks interesting. There is also an SG model.
