Been away for a couple of days. Get back to find someone has killed HCGJ. *shrugs*

Finally seen the surgeon about getting my hand fixed up. The prognosis is not especially encouraging: an attempt to fix the ligament damage would have a high risk of leaving the finger straight but rigid, so the best option is to remove a small triangular section from the bottom phalange (and fix it with a plate and screws) such that the (still bent) finger comes down with the tip closer to the index finger. It would apparently have been much simpler to fix had I been to hospital a lot sooner. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Looking on the brighter side, I forgot to mention that I should be able to have the operation done in January or February, which at least means that it won't interfere with the cricket season. :)

I finally bought a new PC...my old one was bought in 2000. It started dying slowly a few weeks ago..so decided to bite the bullet. This is pretty neat, Windows 7...which seems good so far, certainly very fast. The only issue I'm having is with the supplied sound card which is shit and has horrible latency when recording :(...still, that should be easily fixed with a decent one..I think.

I very nearly bought a Mac..but didn't. :embarrassed:

Are you using ASIO drivers? That'll fix your latency problem. Download asio4all.

So...you need some hand surgery too, the huge? That´s cool. Hope it´s not your right hand: if it´s your left you can use your right and I can have my left, we will be a perfect duo -if you´re into fusion avantgarde. It will probably sound like avantgarde anyhow. :annoyed:

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it but...

I was using one of these:

You see that yellow bit at the top? Someone had removed it and as I was in a hurry, I didn't bother to replace it as it was late and I only needed to cut one sheet.

My left hand clipped the blade and I cut through the top of 3 fingers. It was about twenty odd years ago; I've only fairly recently (3/4 years) picked up the guitar again and found a few workrounds so I can still play
