Has anyone priced residential light bulbs lately?

I have been selective with LEDs.

They do throw a lot less heat. So, they are perfect for the lighting over the bar.

I had them in my office until the power base fell apart and I switched to a different system. I miss LEDs in my office. I have halogen now and it gets to be a bit of a sauna in there now.

NH basement room......in the middle of the winter.

Halogen, eh? :)

I would petition for an official MWGL "Don't be a Romney" smilie, but it would sadly be a TOS violation. That shit's just funny.

Yeah, that would definitely be a violation.

But I'd happily wear a "Don't be a Utahn (Unless you're an Okie)" moniker.

And villainy, don't forget villainy.

I can deal with certain types of villainy. If you want to call me a Hans Gruber or a Hank Scorpio, that's fine. A character from Deliverance or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Not so much. Brains and class go a long way.

Nobody has addressed this.

Like, I mean, you actually have vintage lightbulbs in your bathrooms, and not digital?

I looked at getting these, but I figured it would be annoying once my kids figured out how they work and changed the color of light every 10 seconds.

Damn IT!!!!!

This was started in a pure state of disgust, and DAMNIT, I expect you boys to play nicely.

Tell me why I should spend 16x as much for a fucking lightbult.

I want to shit on Taylor Swift's chest. Big old turd-LincolnLob-style....

No one reads these, do they?

pass me the toilet paper.

@Coralkong you're in NH right? Massachusetts has a Mass Saves energy program where they come and audit the energy efficiency of your house. part of the audit includes free energy saving bulbs. we just got all our incandescent bulbs replaced with LED lights for free. you should see if NH has something similar. i bet they do, it's run through the utility (National Grid for us)

Yeah, because they need to be dimmable, apparently that adds to the price significantly.
Still fucking ridiculous, though.

When my wife and I redid our bedroom, we had six recessed lights put in. I decided on 4" cans and we used Cree brand LED lights and they're setup on a fancy dimmer. I have to say, that they dim great and there's no high pitched squeel coming from the switch or lights. I agree though on cost, if it hadn't been for the extra amount of money we had, we would've went incandescent as well.

Overall, I'm really impressed with Cree's offering. Just not the price lol

We've changed all the bulbs in our house to LED. I even converted the landscape lighting from 20 watt incandescent to 3 watt LEDs. Home Depot sells Cree and Phillips bulbs starting at about four bucks.
