Gig Report: Earth Day today

I think I'll celebrate this year with a trail run after work, up the Sam Merrill trail in Pasadena up to Echo Mountain.

Not that recreation in nature helps the earth, but it puts me in touch with things unspoiled by society and gives me peace.

Have fun on whatever Earth Day activities, gestures, meditations that you find yourself doing today.

Folks, many people have been saying that it's the best planet. Here's to our great, great earth. Beautiful!

Congrats on finding the irony on such a simple topic. The day is simply a reminder of the things we can do to slow down our own destruction of the only planet we live on.

I spilled a bit of oil and gasoline on the ground today but it wasn't intentional

Why do you hate the earth?

when I bought my current rig in 2011 it had 99,500 miles on it,..,.,,almost 8 years later and I have 140,??? I only put like 5000 miles per year and half of those are to whole foods to buy laundry detergent and soap that is safe for rivers and streams

I do most of that outside the confines of your thread, goofy rickenvox.

You hate to see it, folks. You hate to see it. But it happens sometimes. Is that so bad? The local gas people used to spill it all the time and they're okay. Not a big deal!

Wow, I could never drive that little. OK, kudos for your earth saving low mileage.

My problem is that California is freaking huge and I have to drive a third of the way up the state to visit my mom once every couple months, have to drive around 600 miles round trip when I go up in the High Sierras.
I have cut down my work commuting by car though, but still have to drive about 40 miles out to CSUN twice a week. And then doing anything on the weekends in LA involves driving at least 20 miles one way. I do Uber and the Metro train whenever possible.

I didn't go to Starbucks. I didn't get a drink in a plastic cup, with a plastic lid and a plastic straw. I don't remember throwing anything other than a paper cup away today. I did however drive 100 miles round trip to go to Trader Joe's and Woodman's for groceries.
