In all honesty, new magic rules are AWESOME. I think the game is better than ever.

Clerics have abilities to allow other characters to heal themselves, by triggering healing surges. It's weird, but that's become the defacto Cure Light Wounds, while Cure Light Wounds turns into BS.

5th Ed. is shaping up incredibly nicely. 4th seemed like an attempt to oversimplify game play for the WoW crowd, plus add in the M:tG collecting of miniatures. They also deviated from some of the common history of previous editions, so 4E material doesn't blend well with older sourcebooks without significant work.

My #1 son is a big MTG player. But with his new job 'US Embassy Security Guard' I don't think he will have much opportunity to play. We have his cards at home right now...

Or find a girlfriend. They are pretty strict about that stuff in that job - with good reason.

So the girl IM'd me about 30 minutes ago to ask me out for Fish and Chips and a Guiness on Sunday!

She said she had a great time talking last Friday, and she thinks we have a lot in common. WHOO HOO!
