Cheap but good guitar with a Floyd?

I'm still hunting for a cheapy guitar to bring with me offshore this spring/summer/fall. Bolt-on is a must so I can break it down for easy transport, if necessary (only allowed so much cargo space on helicopter flights).

I'd prefer something with a locking trem so I can continue my slow study of a few VH tunes among other material. I have a hard tail already selected (Tele) but want to weigh my trem options too.

This guitar will likely get abused, various people will use it, I won't always be around to baby sit it, 30' seas, tight quarters etc. Suggestions greatly appreciated!

edit: Would like to stay under $400. The under-er the better.

A Quick search nets me an EVH wg Standard at 450 a jackson Adrian smith and a Hagstrom Ultra Swede Fr all for around the same price.

Also, will likely need to buy this online so I can have it shipped straight to Seattle, rather than home on the right coast. Rules out some buying options.
 
The new Pacers were well received. Of course you don't get a German Floyd for that kind of money, from them or anyone else.

They were shortlisted for my mid-life crisis guitar, but no one had them locally. (Thanks Henry.)
 
Pacer is ugly as fuck but i like the features and price. The striker ain't bad either.

I like Ibanez but they seem to have 12 million different models in this price range. Not sure what's what with those.
 
That'd be good but the logistics of buying used and shipping to a location where I won't be for a few weeks won't work out well.
 
Maybe see if you can find a used 80's Charvel in a shop in Seattle that you can pick up when you get there.

That's a really good idea. I'll either have plenty of time to do this or none at all. The nature of offshore work, you're at the mercy of the boat.

It'd be great to tour some shops in Seattle!!

You can have a cheap guitar with a Floyd. You can have a good guitar that's cheap. But you can't have a guitar with a Floyd that's good.
