HMGD

I'm in the same boat and I've been recovering for the past two months plus from some fricking tendonitis and nerve entrapment. Deal with arthritis and general hand stiffness all the time outside of that. For me, lots of bending really seems to have set my issues off the deep end. Switching to lighter gauge strings, Epsom salt soaks, advil, etc have been beneficial. One of the reasons I sold my Tele a while back was the neck profile was becoming a little uncomfortable for me and I wasn't playing it as much.

I've got a 1 hr torture/ART session tonight

So sorry to hear about the hand EG, and at the same time I'm glad to hear that there was a solution to being able to play. See, there's a reason that we have children!

I've been dealing with tendinitis and inflammation for 15 years. It's amazing what a focus on good posture and guitar height can do. Proper warmup and stretching help immensely.

And I think that's part of it with the Jag. It hangs differently than other guitars and I don't have to contort as much to reach the fretboard.

I have short stubby fingers so I love the shorter scale guitars, myself. Plus closing in on 50 and working in a factory tends to make one's fingers a bit stiff. I'm pretty sure I don't have arthritis (yet), its just from being old :(

I've been tempted to get one of those Brian May guitars, they are 24" scale too, I believe. But I think I'm set now on electrics, other than a baritone.

In my tendons.

(Both wrists) I blame NES and Final Fantasy.

There's a bunch of different CTS related tendon and nerve glides out there that have proven to yield a benefit, but you should get an accurate diagnosis if you haven't done so already, before you go down that road. An experienced physician, orthopedist or physical therapist should be able to quickly go through your symptoms and narrow down specifically what the problem is. My orthopedist actually said I'd experience a quicker recovery if it was CTS and I had surgery.

The one thing that I found is that a number of medical practitioners will tell you to immobilize the area and wait it out when it's tendonitis or nerve compression. The problem is that's not really practical for most of us and it's supposedly pretty easy to continue to inflame the situation, making it drag on longer and longer and longer.

Nice guitar and I'm glad it will help with your hand problems. Strange that for some the thinner neck is easier on the hand. I go through occasional bouts of muscle soreness or what feels like tendonitis. For me having a fatter neck feels so much better.

I really like those! If my WANT list already wasn't so long. I would probably have one by now.

HNGD!
