Bittersweet NGD

My tendinitis has been getting worse over the last couple of years to the point where it hurts to play. The longer the scale, the worse it gets, it seems.
Anyway, I borrowed my son's Blacktop Jaguar 90 a while back and the thinner neck along with the 24" scale really helped. He wasn't digging the short scale much so I bought the Jag from him.
Pickups are a little noisier than my Duncan P90s and Phat Cats and I'll probably swap my Duncan soapbars into the Jag later.
Anyway, pics and much hand relief.

And my other guitars are mostly wall art right now. :(
At least this one doesn't hurt as badly so it's good I found it. Until this, I had almost quit playing so in that sense it's a good thing.

I'm thinking it's that, shorter reach, smaller neck and better ergonomics. Seems like it's a combination of things.
I can play this one a couple of hours before my hand hurts where my other guitars were maybe 10-15 minutes. I was shocked at the difference.
And it's a good playing guitar, too. A but heavier than the PRS and about the same as the white guitar. Right around 8 pounds.

Some but once a flare up really gets going, it takes ibuprofen several times a day for a week or two to get it to settle down and I hate taking that stuff on a regular basis.

I'm with you on that... I have arthritis and there are some days where Advil is the only thing that gets me to even hold a pen. Oddly enough, though, typing and playing guitar never bothered me too much, but writing KILLS.

It really depends on what your problem really is. For me its very muscular so the wax bath works killer. I use it pretty much every day.

That is why I made the switch about a year ago. I have a Duo Sonic and Jaguar that are short scale. It makes a huge difference for me as well.

It sucks that the condition isn't getting better, but I'm glad you turned lemons into a guitar. Wait, how's that go again?

Aleve might work better, and it lasts longer. Otherwise I suggest Tylenol Arthritis for extended release Acetaminophen. Maybe alternate them every other month so that your body doesn't build too much tolerance.

It is a pretty slick guitar.
The neck could use a shim, I think. The TOM style bridge is adjusted as low as it'll go so there isn't much break angle over it. I may shim up the back of the pocket a bit to bring in a little angle to the neck.
