FWIW, when I worked for that Carrier it was called "Sprint Cellular" before they became 360 and then were sold to Verizon. I never worked for Verizon and have actually used 3 different carriers before returning to Verizon.

I like the iphone. I have a 4S. The androids are pretty cool, but they lack the seamless integration with OSX. If I wasn't a mac user, I would probably get an android based phone, but I am a mac user, so it is iphone for me.
 
The average person will be perfectly happy with either an iPhone or Android device (keep in mind that your major players are skinning the Android OS with their own UI so for example HTC Sense is a different interface than Motorola MotoBlur). I'm not sure why anyone w/o corporate email requirement or that's stricly a texting-only-addict would buy a blackberry.

Baimun: IIR the iphone has been gorilla glass since the get-go. I busted the screen on my HTC w/ gorilla glass from a 4 foot fall onto my laminate floor...just was the right hit to shatter the screen. Fortunately, either platform has replacement options; no one need walk around w/ a busted screen.

Just curious as I used the iPhone and Android w/ gmail accts on Windows/itunes, what integration do you speak of that you gain on OSX?

I guess it depends on how you do it...If I want speed, I mount the SD card and copy the songs over myself...or I'll use Winamp, USB or via WIFI (or WIFI w/ WIFI explorer pro). I really dig being able to send shit to the phone, when it's sitting across the room, with out getting up or having to go get it :)

i plug it in with the usb charger. and use an app called iSyncr.

It works well the the exchange server in synching mail/calendars and contacts, and the iphone doesn't duplicate records in the mac ical and contact book, they simply show up in exchange and the mac software. Friends with droids seem to have problems, and their droids seem to lack the ability to recognize the mac ical app and contact book, so they don't recognize stuff you have in these apps. There are work arounds, but they seem to produce multiple identical entries and such.
 
With the Logitech Revue Google TV box we have in the front room, I can control my entire entertainment system from my Android powered Galaxy phone...

How do you like them apples? :tongue:

I could see not getting your calendar entries from your Mac on your phone being a PITA but I thought they solved that issue with being able to two way sync ical w/ a google account calendar. Granted, your point is still totally valid as that is not 'seamless' by any definition.

Sure, there are work arounds, but there are lots of 'work' things for which one wouldn't or legally shouldn't use an 'non-secured' web based calendar/mail program. If I was using my phone for a home type email, it probably wouldn't really matter.

Yeah, the blackberry server system is supposed to have advantages in terms of security, but they have always sucked at supporting apple stuff....or so I hear. I really know very little about email servers and security and IT stuff, other than I get bulletins from several government and military agencies with whom we work about proper mailing protocols for confidential information and the use of web based email services of questionable security (things like patient records, restricted access information, and so on).
 
Blackberry is what your job gives you. (easier to secure and to integrate with Exchange via BES, etc.)

iPhone and Android is what you get for yourself.

Screw smart phones... Get a basic cell phone for voice, and a good tablet for the fun stuff.
