Anyone excited for the iPhone5?

I've been looking forward to it for quite a while but I'll have to wait a few months before I get one, I think....

yes yes yes....i still have the original 3g (not even a 3gs) i almost went for the 4s but decided to wait for the 5

my 3g is slow slow slow and won't run the latest software (half my apps won't update because they need a newer ios)

I know I am!

Because it means that a totally kick ass new Samsung Galaxy will quickly follow.

I want one, but unless some gear sells I probably will wait a month or so. Between the new MBP w/ accessories and the new Godin I have pretty much tapped out my extraneous funds.

I was waiting for the 5...but about 3 months back, the screen on my wife's 3 went out. My 3 also had a small flaw. We were with AT&T and it turns out their service is worse here (near Colo Spgs) than most places. So, we went to Sprint (best coverage in our area) to make the switch.

My wife didn't want another iPhone although she loves her iPad 3. I find the iPad mostly pointless except for very specific uses but I love the iPhone. So, my wife got a simple smart phone with lots of buttons and I got an iPhone 4S. The best part was that Sprint gave us $200 trade in credit for our two broken iPhone 3's. So, our phones were FREE.

For my next smart phone, I want one of those large screen phones. My old eyes are really getting bad. I've seen a large screen phone by another company that looks to be what I'll need in a few more years. I assume Apple will eventually get around to making a large screen iPhone. At the moment, I'm addicted to the slick musician apps exclusive to the iPhone. But, if Apple doesn't offer a large screen iPhone in the future, I'll probably have to switch.

My company is waiting to replace mine when the 5 comes out. Should be just a few weeks. I told my Wife we'll get her one when they come out as well. Seems like all Android is always playing catch up.

True. At the moment, the best Droid phones don't offer real time audio processing. So, Droid is not capable of running the guitar modeling or synth modeling programs, for example.

Based on posts I've read around the web, I think a lot of people are under the misconception that some of these really cool musician apps will eventually make it to the Droid phones. Well, most of those powerful audio apps can't even run properly on the current Droid phones. So, until the hardware catches up with Apple, those musician apps will remain exclusive to iPhone.

Even if the hardware in Droid eventually does catch or surpass iPhone, there are other issues keeping developers of the most powerful, exclusive apps away from Droid. Although, I don't expect Apple to always have an exclusive edge against Droid regarding software apps, it doesn't appear to be something that will be changing soon. I expect the Droid owners will continue to wait for years before the app situation starts to become more balanced.

I'm still quite taken with my galaxy s2.....daughter has an ipod amd plenty of friends and family have iphones and i still say id take this one any day. Im curious what the 5 will be lile but i cant see ot winning me over.
