Anybody want a google+ invite?

i mean, i understand Chihli's paranoia. we're definitely in an age of living under the microscope. but there are levels of privacy that Facebook and other sites simply never addressed that Google is. the whole point of Google + is having a profile but that once you "friend" somebody, based on where you put them, they don't necessarily get to see everything.

so yeah, you as a perfect stranger will be able to see my name and profile picture. but that's all you'll see. if you're a co-worker, you're not going to see my daily posts. maybe something here and there when i'm out of the office, but that's it. only my actual friends will get to see my daily rantings. i like that.

its the cleverness of the circles system that facebook has never had. G+ could be very good if they keep pushing it.

Like I said, it's the principle. At least on FB I can stay pretty hidden and not have to deal with invites from people I dont necessarily want to be friends with. I dont have anything I'm worried about hiding, but sometimes Id rather just not have to deal with a person.
 
I found Myspace EXTREMELY annoying and I have a Facebook account, but basically ignore it. However, somebody sent me a gmail invite early on and I have loved it ever since. So:

You do realize that Facebook profiles are searchable on the web, right? Anybody with a FB account can friend you. And anybody can view whatever info you've made public. Google is actually adding more privacy for you, the user.

So, this is an facebook type thing that you can keep private from any random yahoo? I don't have a facebook account because I felt it was a little too public for my tastes. I might be interested in this.
 
So, it seems that if someone drags me into a circle, they can look at what I post whether I want them in a circle or not, no? It seems like there is no "accepting".

so somebody drags you into a circle. they can view whatever you post to your public profile. but i don't post anything to my public profile. i only post to "limited" circles. if i don't want you to see something, you don't get to see something. as opposed to FB where if i friend you, you can see everything that i post. so i can post to a certain subset of friends about a topic and not everybody gets to see it.
