ok so it is a conspiracy then...I suppose it goes like this VA was pissed that all the old people and well to do van life remote workers etc were coming to Tucson to spend winter and their money so VA commandeered Gas Buddy with payola to skewer the statistics so that Tucson would look sketch and by way of that the winter visitors would go to the next desirable winter location ....Richmond VA :facepalm: :tinfoil:

Jacksonville is not the destination for the old folks. Down south though you get the old folks and the young jerks. So, yes, it is definitely a part of the issue at least in South Florida.

Yeah, Jax is not a big retirement destination. It still get a little chilly in the winter.

Put one of those driving monitors in your car and try to figure out why it's beeping at you but you're not driving bad and then tell me that the gas buddy app is giving good data.

Any time you want to fly up to the DC burbs and drive around come on up. If you don’t almost die 10 times in a hour, you win. I have a 2 mile commute and almost get killed daily. Drivers here are insane and always in their phone. The beltway alone is like the Thunderdome meets the Cannonball Run.

The OBD driving monitor is from yer insurance company and they have a vested interest in having you drive safe so they I imagine set the parameters accordingly…gas buddy though why would they manipulate ….what is their angle. Seems like they are in the business of telling people where the cheapest petrol is

Exactly. So why would they put a bunch of time into the drive tracking part of the app? All it needs is your location relative to the gas stations. It doesn't need to know how fast you're going, what the speed limit is, if you brake or accelerate hard, etc. So why would it be a reliable source of information?

It s probably using gps and tracking you which would be easy enough for it to transfer that into movement of vehicles Deep state players such as Travel and Leisure magazine could be used by states to who want more tourism money to “dethrone” sunshine cities such as Tucson and lure them into “less dangerous driving cities” such as Minneapolis “…

It's probably indicative of how aggressive I am when I drive, but I have ZERO issues on the highways in Nashville... and I don't know how similar Tucson and Phoenix are, but I was fine buzzing up those highways at 80 mph as well. I mean, if EVERYONE is driving with the same intensity, there are less issues.... people know to get the fuck out of the left lane if they want to drive the speed limit.

It's always the areas *coughchicagocough* when MOST people are driving like they-got-shit-to-do.... and ONE fuckin' nearsighted mormon decides to do "God's work" by playing hall monitor in the left fucking lane, forcing everyone else to jam on the brakes. :gah:

see this is where ya'll don't understand I think....in Tucson people really don't use the Interstate because we only have 1-10 if you look on a map...and it skirts around the southern edge of Tucson so it's not really useful . To the north we have a natural geographic boundary of mountains and we have no expressways, it's all in town driving which is why it's worse. You aren't flying down the highway at 780...you are going down a 35 and 40 mph road ( with some people doing 60) and it can lead to more confrontation because you end up at stoplights or someone might follow you, etc...and fwiw Phoenix is vastly differnt driving...it's basically LA style with freeway and expressways.

My College girlfriend was from DC... so she was used to neighborhood roads where you drive 35 and highways where you drive 70. First time we went flying up a two lane county road at 65 miles and hour and a truck was going the opposite direction about 3 feet away from us... she... freaked... the... fuck.... out. :messedup:

Craziest rural drivers I’ve encountered was in Texas. Coming from Dalhart to Amarillo. The 2 lane got curvy by Texas/OK standards and the traffic picked up around sundown. Turned suburban, lots of. Side roads pulling in. Posted speed limit still 80 mph and people were still driving 90 after dark. It was tense I tell you wut.
