I forgot about these. They are pretty darn funny, considering Gibson's recent problems with illegal wood.

I would love to get two of these to run a "wood doesn't matter" tone test, ala Scott Grove.
 
I liked these. That price is about $200 too much, but I'd buy one. I like the more non-traditional Gibsons (with the exception of anything 'X').
 
I actually like the gold hardware on that one.
It works well with the finish.

Probably would for about $850 and a better match on the back.
 
I've always liked the Smartwood line, but unless I'm mistaken, that is pretty much what those sold for back in the day -- and since they're not exactly collector's items, I think his price is rather out of line.
 
Nice looking guitar, but that price is stupid. It’s a used studio made from nontraditional wood. I wouldn’t pay more than $650. This guy’s selling it for the same price as a new Les Paul Studio Deluxe!

I wanted one of those back in the day, but they weren't exactly easy to come by. None of the shops I frequented at the time (late 90s & early 00s), carried them. They might be interesting to try out.
 
IIRC, there were two guises of these: a studio version and the "exotic series" version. I think they were the same, except that the exotic series had the gold bling...
