2000 Gibson Smart Wood

Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition overall with a few minor nicks & dings along with surface scratches. The guitar is very resonant with a nicely figured top & has been professionally set up by us, so it plays great!

Neck: Medium profile mahogany neck with pearloid dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with very little wear. Gibson Deluxe tuners in perfect working condition. Smart Wood Series logo on the back of the headstock & truss rod cover. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.

Body: Contoured, solid mahogany thin-body with Curupay top. Stopbar tailpiece with Tune-O-Matic bridge; gold hardware. Guitar weighs 7lbs 4.5oz.

Pickups: Gibson USA humbuckers. Bridge - 13.14K ohms; Neck - 7.52K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case: Hardshell case included.

FWIW, I almost bought one of these with an EMG 81/85 set in 2001 for $850. If this one was still priced like that I'd be sorely tempted... it's super clean!

It was a line they had bout a decade ago where they used "sustainable" woods nobody every heard of. This is to say they picked up some cheap wood that wasn't the standard stuff and made a run with it.

You are right in my case. I won't even buy gold jewelry. I just don't like the look of it.

I like these on several levels. I'm an enviro guy, and this was a decent effort by Gibson. I also think they're pretty guitars. I buddy of mine bought one years ago, and it played and sounded great.
